Below are specific projects I have worked on that demonstrate my experience in usability, user interface design, user experience design, etc. This includes requirements gathering, web design, wireframes, process maps, and more.
In my IST 420 course, Systems and Enterprise Integration, I worked on a project that focused on analyzing the IT infrastructure of Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA. Part of this project involved creating wireframes using Microsoft Visio that visually depict what a new teleradiology system may look like for the Medical Center. These wireframes closely corresponded to use cases for the new system.

I have been creating personal websites for over 8 years. The following are current examples of websites I have designed:
- CatrionaCornett.com
- The website you are viewing right now, my ePortfolio site, was designed to promote my skills and to give prospective employers an opportunity to view expanded descriptions of projects I have completed and internship positions I have held in the past.
- I utilized WordPress and customized a special WordPress theme to fit my needs.
- Site design goals: The design goals of this site are to provide a detailed navigation scheme that allows visitors to find information quickly and easily.

- FotoFrog.com
- This website was developed as part of my team’s National Science Foundation Undergraduate Research Scholarship.
- I was primarily responsible for the design of this website.
- Site design goals: My goal in designing this site was to keep it as simple and easy to use as possible. Our group decided that many photo sharing websites are cumbersome and involve too many steps to share photos. FotoFrog is “Photo Sharing Made Easy”
- The website was built from scratch using CSS.

- Pandemic Watch
- This website was created for research purposes as part of my team’s National Science Foundation Undergraduate Research Scholarship.
- The purpose of this site is to track infectious disease outbreaks across the world.
- Site design goals: This site was designed to allow for easy implementation of the Goolgle Maps API. Additionally, the site allows for a simple two step disease submission process.

During my internship at GE Asset Management, I created process maps for a project involving automating a manual print production process. This involved:
- Gathering business requirements
- Transforming IT and business processes into a process map
- Understanding process flow between multiple user groups
- Presenting process map to business stakeholders

This project involved creating a usable system with goal-directed design methods. Our group decided to design a new Penn State Portal to replace the current portal system used at the University. We called this system PSUortal.
This project involved the following components:
- Problem statement
- Identification of potential users and tasks, development of personas
- Scenarios and task analyses
- Low-fidelity prototyping and user testing
- High-fidelity prototyping and heuristic evaluation

This project involved designing a paper prototype of a mobile phone based on a given scenario. This required identifying the tasks that the user performs in the scenario, and turning these tasks into actions that can be performed using the prototype. After building a paper model of the mobile phone, my teammate and I evaluated the prototype and produced a document explaining the tasks, design, methodology, observations from user tests, and suggested improvements.
